Reports are being received by the Romiley Gazette of proposal for a residential facility for 2 severely disturbed children and asylum seeker accommodation. Attempts are being made to ascertain the full details, but with Stockport Council’s Freedom of Information Officer, Liz Sykes, there is always a good chance questions will be branded vexatious.

Apparently a house has been purchased for £750,000 in or around Barnfield to house only 2 delinquent children with 7 security guards and 24 hour protection.

The asylum seeker accommodation is believed to be proposed for Sandy Lane.

I believe the local MP Lisa Smart and the local councillors have been approached by residents but declined to take any action,
