18th October 2025
Request sent 3/10/2025
On August 9th 2024 at 16.50 I asked Councillor Clark (in the presence of a witness) to get someone from the Council to check the state of the unstable land at Padden Brook which was being bulldozed. I have made many requests since for someone to look into the stability of the land, which holds up 24 houses. To date I have received no response to these requests, despite the legal requirement to respond to council taxpayers with a set number of days. I have been waiting for 420 days so far. When can I expect a response to this issue of concern to the residents of Howard Close and Padden Brook, where the landslide would end up? In the intervening 420 days a lot of the vegetation and trees have been removed from the site (despite it being under a total Woodland Protection Order), and the trees alone soak up 100 gallons of water per day each. This has added to the instability of the land. Could I please have a response, and I have to ask myself if Councillor Angela Clark should step down and spend more time with her family?
With warmest best wishes.

Mrs Oliver,
Public Question to the Council Meeting
I refer to your public question that you submitted to the 9 October 2025 meeting of the Council Meeting which was as follows:-

As you were not in attendance, it was agreed that a written response would be provided.
I have now been passed the following response which I have been asked to circulate to you:-
On August 9th 2024, at Mrs Oliver’s request, I contacted various council officers with her concerns and received responses from them. I had already been in contact with those officers following concerns from other residents and since then have maintained contact at various times.
Councillor Angie Clark
Dear FoI Officer
I have had to spanner this response belatedly out of the hands of Councillor Angela Clark.

I would like to have email copies of the correspondence with various council officers to which Councillor Angela Clark refers including the “maintained contact at various times”.
One wonders why she never bothered to respond to me over a period of 14 months.
Yours sincerely
