Subject: Possible Unauthorised Tree Works – TPO 376E, Padden Brook, Romiley (SK6 3AS)
Dear Planning Enforcement Team,
‘planning.enforcement@stockport.gov.uk’; Vicki Bates (vicki.bates@stockport.gov.uk); emma.curle@stockport.gov.uk; liz.sykes@Stockport.gov.uk; Katie Moores (katie.moores@stockport.gov.uk); Lisa Smart – Enquiries (enquiries@lisasmart.org.uk); cllr.rachel.bresnahan@stockport.gov.uk; cllr.angie.clark@stockport.gov.uk; leader@stockport.gov.uk; lisa.mcgrane@stockport.gov.uk
I am writing to raise concern regarding potential unauthorised works to trees within the woodland at Padden Brook, Romiley (SK6 3AS), which is protected under Tree Preservation Order 376E (W1).
According to planning records:
- TPO Reference: 376E (W1 – woodland)
- Planning Application: DC/095427
- Decision Date: 22 May 2025
- Trees Approved for Removal: T1, T2, T3
- Grid Reference of Site: SJ 945 905
It has been observed that additional tree felling and/or works may have occurred beyond the scope of the approved planning application, potentially affecting other protected trees under TPO 376E.
I would be grateful if the Council could:
- Confirm whether any recent works at this site have been authorised.
- Advise on whether enforcement action is required or underway regarding unauthorised works.
- Provide guidance on how residents will be informed of any investigation and outcomes.
To assist your investigation, I am able to provide photographs and exact locations of affected trees.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. Please acknowledge receipt and advise on the next steps.
Kind regards,
Sheila Oliver
