Romiley, Friday 7 November 2025
Anger is boiling over in Romiley after yet more dead wildlife is spotted on the rubbish dumped at Padden Brook, with furious residents accusing Stockport Council’s Environmental Services boss Emma Stubbs of refusing to act despite months of warnings.
Community volunteers claim they’ve sent “countless emails, calls, and photos” to the council, only to be ignored.
“We’re sick of being brushed off,” said one campaigner. “Wildlife is dying right in front of us — and Emma Stubbs just sits on her hands.”
Cllr. Lisa Smart is expected to do nothing. But residents say enough is enough.
“We don’t want statements — we want action,” said local dog walker James Worsley. “Emma Stubbs has the power to act. Every day she delays, more wildlife dies.”
