Subject: Fencing and gates dc/097706 paddenbrook and Howard Close.
I STRONGLY OBJECT TO THE GATE ON HOWARD CLOSE.

This gate is a vehicle access point the goes straight to the W1 TPO protected trees. There has already been a small digger through these gates causing damage to the trees’ root protection zones.

The new gate creates potential road safety hazards, as it is on a blind bend. This gate is also right opposite the Spread Eagle pub where overflow cars that cannot get in the carpark will usually park. This road cannot accommodate new vehicle access points.
The erection of this gate causes unnecessary disturbance to a sensitive ecological area without a valid functioning requirement.
I also strongly object to the 2.4 metre high temporary fence on Padden Brook.

This 2.4 metre high fence is very overbearing compared to the metre high fence. It also exceeds the 2 metre height limit for residential boundaries.
The temporary 2.4metre high fence also has an amenity impact just by being such a tall overbearing structure.
I would also like to point out that planning application did not say anything about a wooden notice board/sign and the height issue is more than the metre high fencing it’s attached to which again breaking height restrictions.

I have sent you 4 photos of the gates/temporary fence and notice board.
One final point is that the gate I’m objecting to is on Howard Close. Therefore, why did the council not send letters out about this application to the homes on Howard Close?
Surely the council should have leafletted this road in particular. I would like an explanation please as to why this particularly big oversight was not picked up on before letters were sent out in the first place, and will the council delay this application so that the good, law-abiding citizens of Howard Close can have their say on the application as well, as its only fair that all should have a voice.
No letters were sent to Padden Brook Mews either; it’s not good enough.
