I along with Mr Parfett and Friends of the Earth did this to Tesco http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/5342914.stm so I should be able to deal with the dodgy planning at Stockport Council personified by Padden Brook. We need a few councillors, council officers and dodgy developers locked up pour encourager les autres.
Are you an idiot? It is recognised by the Council as protected visual amenity land, W1 protected woodland and a Local Wildlife Site pretty much untouched since the 1960s with protected wildlife. I can’t engage further with people like you. You waste my valuable time. I believe you to be a member of the LibDems because of your hectoring, unpleasant, uninformed, untrue comments. Or are you connected to the developer?
Good of you to mention me in your latest post. Despite what you say I am not a member of any political party. I am simply a Romiley resident who is amazed by the rubbish that you are publishing about a site which lies opposite a number of houses that I remember being built on what was a similar site at the time. Indeed some of the existing houses are built on land that was once used for industrial purposes. The land currently under consideration is generally scrub land.
It is unstable land holding up 24 houses. The public footpath has collapsed as has someone’s drive. The rogue builder who has minus £66k in his accounts and has no planning permission for his own house, has removed vegitation which was soaking up the water thus making the land more unstable. He intends to remove 2000 tons of soil from this unstable land. His architect is not actually an architect. The land is probably highly contaminated due to past useage including a hat works. His intervention has damaged the retaining wall holding up the road, which is the council’s responsibility, and the 24 houses. The planning officer was the one responsible for the Scheweinerei that was Offerton Precinct – Dominic Harvey – which cost the council taxpayer dearly. And you, Mr Flitcroft, presumably a member of the LibDem Smugerati, have the audacity to pretend you know what is involved and insist we shut up. Well, the dodgy senior panjandrums at Stockport Council block every request as does the dodgy LibDem MP and her lickspittle councillors. (evidence of their dodgyness available on request).

It is W1 protected woodland, local nature site, protected visual amenity land. A derelict butty van has been dumped there for almost two years. It has now transmogrified into a site office. The roots of protected trees have been bulldozed, protected wildlife has been subject to illegal action. There is a fence put up too high and a gate on Howard Close installed. The application to rectify this situation has just been shelved. Letters to local residents were not sent, no notices on lamp posts, the planning portal was down for a lot of the time and people couldn’t register their objections. Given the LibDem planning corruption which has gone on for decades, please excuse me if I refuse to accept it any longer. https://blog.cromptonthedog.com/2026/05/21/stockport-people-despise-the-libdems/
You publish some absolute rubbish. There is no planning abuse at Padden Brook. There is a planning application that has been submitted for 3 houses on a site fronting Padden Brook. That application, as I observe is currently under consideration having been out for public consultation. No doubt it will be considered by the Council’s Planning Committee in due course.
