Dear [Council Planning Department / Ecology Officer],
I am writing to raise a concern about an erected fence on land designated as a Local Wildlife Site at Padden Brook, SK6.

The fence appears to be wire construction, in front of the graffiti-ridden, dumped butty van, and near to the piles of dumped rubbish adjacent to the public pavement.
My concerns are:
- Whether this fence required planning permission given its location on a Local Wildlife Site.
- Whether the fence has been reviewed for its potential impact on local wildlife movement or habitat connectivity.
Could you please confirm:
- Whether planning permission has been sought or granted for this fence.
- Whether the fence is lawful under current planning rules and environmental protections.
- Whether the council’s ecology team has been consulted on the potential impact on this Local Wildlife Site.
I would appreciate it if this could be logged as a formal enquiry (or possible planning breach report), and if you could let me know the case reference number.
Thank you for your assistance.
Yours faithfully,
Sheila
