Dear [Council Planning Department / Ecology Officer],

I am writing to raise a concern about an erected fence on land designated as a Local Wildlife Site at Padden Brook, SK6.

The fence appears to be wire construction, in front of the graffiti-ridden, dumped butty van, and near to the piles of dumped rubbish adjacent to the public pavement.

My concerns are:

  • Whether this fence required planning permission given its location on a Local Wildlife Site.
  • Whether the fence has been reviewed for its potential impact on local wildlife movement or habitat connectivity.

Could you please confirm:

  1. Whether planning permission has been sought or granted for this fence.
  2. Whether the fence is lawful under current planning rules and environmental protections.
  3. Whether the council’s ecology team has been consulted on the potential impact on this Local Wildlife Site.

I would appreciate it if this could be logged as a formal enquiry (or possible planning breach report), and if you could let me know the case reference number.

Thank you for your assistance.

Yours faithfully,

Sheila
